HRA Current and past projects

Our priority projects are determined by our members. They raise issues via surveys, correspondence, Facebook and annual general meetings.

Property Valuations

Credit: FreePix.uk. We assist owners with objections to property valuations by providing forms and documentation.

OM Budget Aanalysis

We do an in-depth analysis of the Overstrand draft budget which is sent to all members.

Country Market

We vigorously oppose the closure of the Country Market and lobby its cause.

The Hermanus Bypass

In a 2016 survey of HRA members, 75% opposed the proposed bypass impacting the Fernkloof Nature Reserve. We still do.

CBD Revitalization

The HRA has been working with the OM in the preparation of the approved CBD Regeneration Plan from early on.

FNR Management Plan

There is an urgent need to approve the Fernkloof Nature Reserve Protected Area Management Plan to manage one of our region’s most valued assets.

Baboon Management

We initiated and still support the Hermanus Baboon Action Group (HBAG).

Safety and Security

In 2020 the Hermanus SRA was approved and the HPP was appointed as the management body.
